Originally completed early in 2011, this project in north east Somerset combines fixed glazed panels, opening joinery and fixed joinery infill panels. We revisited site in early 2014 and the contrasting sets of images show how the effects of rain and sun can either grey up the timbers or in the case of the front elevation, result in a more bleached look. Whilst this may give both coverboards and joinery the same tone, we would always recommend that opening joinery is re-oiled at least once a year to prevent swelling and snaggling in the winter months.
